Displace Me

Wow, is the most I can say after this experience. I mean it's like you basically get a hands on look at how the Northern Ugandian Displacement camps live. I'll give you the 411 on what happened.

Ok so first we get there and we build our homes out of cardboard mine was slammin and I will have pictures pretty soon of it. Then we went and hung out for a little while and we made a video of some kids holding the banner that says New Orleans. then we watched this video from (I wanna say) a president of one of the Displacement camps. He told us to go build our house or finish building it if we were not done. So we did that.

After that we watched another video on writting letters to ouur leaders to demand their participation in bringing an end to this war. So we all went and wrote letters to The President of Uganda and To the senator of our state.

Then we Learned how the eating and drinking worked. The Girls had to get water for every guy in there group. So for instance if you are one girl in a group with three guys the girl would have to walk and get one bottle of water each time until everybody including themselves had one. Then the guys had to go get three packs of cracker and give them to the girls and then one for your selves. I got my water from Sandra and gave my crackers to Sandra Julia Sarah and Faith so it all worked. We made this weird food its like you put the cracker in your mouth then drink some water and it made this mushy corn meall feeling stuff and it actually would fill you up.

After that we had 21 minutes of silence which was awesome if you actually did it. We did 21 minutes in memorial for the 21 years the war has been going on. And God spoke some things to me and it was awesome. He told me that I would be telling everybody at school about my experience with all of their undivided attention. That I would Actually go to Uganda for 1-2 months. And that the War will end. But yeah it was flippin awesome.

After that we went to "bed" supposedly. Our group dat and played guitar and sang some praise and worship songs on the bleachers they have and we watched all these people it was great.

And I have to say this. This Displace me event was basically like Woodstock and it was crazy. No joke I set up my hut and looked ove rand there were this group of peolpe smoking a bong. Me and Paul watched a dude roll a Joint it was crazy. But yeah I twas fun and a great experiecne I should have pictures on soon.

Well if you got any questions comment or something.

Love,

T-Barry
